XX business activities in Iran

At the beginning of October 2009, the Managing Board of XX AG decided that no additional agreements regarding new orders may be concluded with customers in Iran in the future. The last legally binding bids from the period before the decision was made will expire in the middle of 2010. Since the Managing Board decision was made, it has been implemented through internal processes at the Corporate level.

Since the announcement of the decision, the following requirements have applied to XX business activities in Iran with immediate effect:

No further bids for direct deliveries in Iran may be tendered.

Indirect deliveries are still permitted in exceptional cases.

Products and services for humanitarian purposes may still be provided.

Products and services for maintaining the installed base may still be provided.

Contractual obligations are still to be fulfilled. The termination of agreements without liability and the withdrawal of bids are preferable.

These regulations apply to XX AG and its Affiliated Companies. Details are set out in the annex.

This Circular supersedes all current regulations of XX AG and its Affiliated Companies regarding business activities in Iran. Transactions that have already been approved are to be implemented or terminated in accordance with this Circular. No new or additional approval is required in these cases.
