Thailand had a revolution in 1932 and the name of country changed to Siam. Then in 1949, the country name got back to Thailand. Therefore during WWII, which 电子赵括's translation was about, there is only a country named Siam but not Thailand. Same reason that we can only say Persia in WWI but not Iran in WWI.

As you pointed out the royal family of Thailand exists the same. And this shows the 1932 revolution is such a good model of the change from Monarchy to Constitutional Monarchy. IMHO.
