Geopolitics dictates that Cuba has to reach some kind of accommodation with US sooner or later for its economy to thrive. Just like Taiwan has no choice but to deal with Mainland. Unless either place can finance a giant tow-boat, both have to learn to bent a little to the Big Boss on the mainland.
