Financials: For all of 2004, SBC reported earnings of $5.9 billion, or $1.79 a share, on revenue of $40.8 billion.

Telecommunications scope: SBC companies serve more than 54 million access lines nationwide.

Wireless: SBC is 60 percent owner of Cingular Wireless, which serves more than 46 million wireless customers in the top 100 metropolitan areas.
