4. Lyndon Johnson nominated Mr. Walter Mansfield to be a judge of the U.S. District Court (may be for the Southern District of New York) in 1966.

5. Nixon bumped him up to an appellate judgeship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1971(?)

6. Walter Mansfield died in 1987 in the senior status (kinda of semi-retirement) in the federal court.
