家园 我看过老金的一个演讲... 我记得最清楚的就是他说,别怕周边出事,出了事情我们才好出头.说的是1998年左右印巴差点核战争的事情.
这话跟我所从事行业的性质一样,有bug? 有bug才好,没有bug我们吃什么?

家园 我们搞战略的人，不能凭借感情冲动和表面印象去预测未来 慎密冷静、头脑清醒著称的。因为现在老金是国家级的战略智囊I guess it is not so mysterious. He has accurate information about the actual cards in the hands in of each countries. Precise analysis and prediction as well are not difficult at all when information is sufficiently provided. Check those reports published by Lamd company.(Some of them are really insightful! If you have good brain, you even can draw conclusions on how to make money based their analysis.) The responsibilities of reporting the analysis and conclusions might be huge.
家园 回头我会专门写个帖子 说说我见过的这些军中人物。老金是靠熟悉外情出头的，但绝不是翻翻兰德报告来挣零花钱的人。兰德的报告我也常看，不是那个档次的。
家园 翻翻兰德报告来挣零花钱的人 You miss the point. 老金 is able to get access to high level information, thus he can make big strategy. It is not because he is much more intellegent. Performing that kind of analysis is not mysterious. I believe information engineers in Lamb company of can accomplish that kind of job - probably more reliable.
家园 金一南 I simply guess. The way of mention Taiwan is exactly as the way he talked in Nation and Strategy. He said the boundary of a country in fact is where it can expaned, which is totally different from the previous defination.

讲起来，说自己一颗枪能把十字路口封住
后来想想，这个人知道不知道阻击手的概念
不过当时我也不知道
