家园 【原创】我老板读毛选的心得 前天陪老板接待国内一个代表团。会谈的前半部分比较生硬枯燥，主要是我用中文做个presentation，讲讲精算和保险方面的一些东西，我老板不会中文，就在旁边笑呵呵的坐着。而国内这个代表团，十个人里只有一个能讲些英文，所以我老板是在坐冷板凳。这样不符合突出领导的精神啊，于是在presentation结束的时候，我向代表团介绍，我老板，作为一个美国人，在三十多年前就通读了毛选。大家都来了精神。这个代表团的平均年龄不小，都是五十左右，应该是对毛选不陌生的。于是大家纷纷和我老板交流关于毛选的问题，我充当翻译。
被问到毛选中那篇印象最深时，我老板回答，"the talks at the Yan'an forum on literature and art, May,1942, where he describes the relationship between work in the literacy and artistic fields and revolutionary work in general".自然，国内的客人要问他为什么对于这一篇印象最深，我老板的回答是，"Mao succeeded because he understood the importance of communication with the masses, and that is one of the key lessons I took away from reading his work. Regardless what we do, communication is critical".
昨天他把他那套毛选带到办公室给我看。呵呵，书保存得真好。他是1972年得到的这套书，到现在品相还非常好。我拿回我办公室仔细翻了翻，看到不少篇章中都有读书的记号，下划线什么的。还真的是很用心的全部看下来了。他非常欣赏这套书的语言，他认为毛选的英译本的英语非常准确优雅。我心说是啊，当时能进毛选编译小组的都是钱钟书一流的人物啊。

Influential Person, hehe..., deemed as "very dangerous" by some toppest, since the leadership might be competed, and some one worries so much about the possible power transfer... In this way, any respected "hero" has/is considered to be requisite to be "jailed", because they could influence the mass, and then, possibly, the "history", or power shift...
Is Mao a "dangerous" person? To Jiang? :-)

1942年五月延安文艺座谈会上的讲话，毛在这个讲话中概述了文艺领域的工作和革命工作的关系。
"Mao succeeded because he understood the importance of communication with the masses, and that is one of the key lessons I took away from reading his work. Regardless what we do, communication is critical".
毛之所以成功是因为他了解和群众交流的重要性，这也是我读他的著作学到的重要经验之一，
不论我们做什么，交流是非常关键的。

Correctly understanding situation, then one can make right decision. All through Mao's work, is to tell people how to analyze the situation at that time, how to make CP's plocies.
家园 问个问题 三十多年前，那你老板是怎么弄到毛选的？那时候美国有卖吗？
家园 毛选1-5卷我都有，也都读过。 所以zzb的同事总是认为我不是个纯粹的CP！Oh yeah！
