    上周为了表示对Dixie Chicks挺直腰杆的支持,网上买了她们的新专辑,顺便又买了盘Ace of Base, 家里原来的那盘已经听的个别地方转不动了.

    心里的一角总存放着第一次享受Ace of Base的幸福感觉.那是十年前一个夏日傍晚,加了班后坐着考斯特中巴回市区.平时上下班的大巴人多,都不大熟,车开起来后大部分的人都在睡觉.而加班坐考斯特的都是本厂办公室的同僚,平时一起吃饭,开会争吵,熟得不能再熟,而每次也总会有一两个很风趣的人在车中,一个小时的车程总充满欢声笑语,很有些"做完了一天的功课，我们来尽情欢乐"的感觉.

    车一直向夕阳方向开,晚霞洒在眼前,很美.(当时不会开车,不知司机这么开很难受).一小段玩笑过后,有片刻安静,新来的秘书周小姐走到车前交给司机一盘磁带 (or CD? 忘了),"声音可以放大些".倾刻间车中充满了快乐激荡的旋律,"It's a beautiful life, oh ... oh, it's a beautiful life", 一首接一首,沉醉地欣赏,快乐的心随着鼓点,随着考斯特蹦来蹦去.坐过考斯特的人知道,与好一些的大巴相比,考斯特感觉硬,有人喜欢,多数人不喜欢,今天它的动感与Ace of Base恰是佳配.没人要求将音量调小,车已开进外环,有人恋恋不舍地问,"这么好听,谁的歌啊?", 周小姐露出得意,"Ace of Base,能不好听吗?".

    I wrote this song on the day I was coming home from the Canary Islands (西属美丽热带海岛) at the New Year of 1994.

    I was there with five of my closest friends and had a great week.In the lobby of the hotel this melody and lyrics suddenly were in my head, it really felt like the ultimate climax to the week and how life should be at its best.

    于吾心有戚戚焉.
