Now it is true that you would be mad at me if I steal your idea, and this is because your idea is not just an idea: it is a MONOPOLY which has physical implications. My stealing your idea means that you can't collect monopoly tax (which is physical assets), and if I were you I would get mad too and use all that I could, as a dick, who in all likelihood has a gang, to teach you a lesson to respect me. But this respect has nothing to do with trust. I, basing on the power of my gang, assume that everybody in my neighborhood would respect my interest, but it is not my neighbors that I trust, it is my gang that I trust.

From my perspective, it is perfectly fine for the dick of the block to assert his own sphere of influence, which is his own block or as far as his gang could reach. But the dick would be a day-dreamer if he thinks that people from outside of his sphere of influence, dicks or otherwise, should pay him money for protection; after all, how does the dick protect them? I would of course be sugar-sweet to the dick of my block, but why should I be nice to the dick from another block who tries to play dick to me? I would call the dude to whom I paid my protection money to give that dick a bloody nose: that's what my protection money is for.
